Accor has made a surprise announcement today for Accor Live Limitless (ALL) members with an account address in Greater China (mainland + Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao).

Accor has decided to extend ALL member tiers through December 31, 2023, which will be processed in July.

Conclusion

This is quite an exciting move by Accor because you would think that hospitality sector companies would have been done with their status extensions.

Mainland China has been a complete outlier in its approach to dealing with the Covid-19. Some cities were in partial or complete lockdowns for months this year when the omicron wave hit.

Also, travel to these countries still requires variable time spent in a mandatory hotel or home quarantine, although requirements have been relaxed lately.

Accor must have churned the numbers and concluded that this was a sound move for them.
