There is also another issue with these rates that are F&B credit inclusive. You essentially pay the service charge and sales tax twice at many hotels, when you book the hotel, and again when applying F&B expenses to your folio.
This rate plan likely makes sense only on specific occasions like the Conrad Koh Samui above. When taking the daily credit into account, the savings over other rates must be significant enough to be worthwhile.

Hotel credits are earned per room, per stay. For each completed night, a US$150 hotel credit will be awarded for properties in the US, a £100 credit will be awarded for properties in the United Kingdom, a €150 credit will be awarded for properties in Europe. For properties outside of the U.S, UK and Europe, the prevailing exchange rate equivalent of $150 in local currency (as determined by the property) will be applied to the folio in the value of credit earned.
