Choice’s Update:
What this means for Radisson Rewards Americas members:
- On July 18, 2023, Radisson Rewards Americas members will no longer be able to earn, redeem or transfer Radisson Rewards Americas points. They will need a Choice Privileges account for all activity post that date.
- Members with a corresponding Choice Privileges account will automatically have their Elite status matched and points will transfer at a rate of 2 Radisson Rewards Americas points to 1 Choice Privileges point. Elite Night Credits will be moved to their Choice Privileges account.
- For point eligible stays at legacy Radisson Hotels Americas properties completed prior to July 18, members will earn Radisson Rewards Americas points. Award Nights already booked will be honored—there is no need to reconfirm reservations.
- Members who book points eligible stays after July 18 at legacy Radisson Hotels Americas properties via the Radisson Hotels Americas website and/or mobile app will earn Choice Privileges points if they have a Choice Privileges account created.
What members of Radisson Rewards Americas should do in advance of July 18:
- Join Choice Privileges before July 18, 2023, in order to transition their Radisson Rewards Americas account. If they have points in their account, they will be transferred to their Choice Privileges account within a few weeks of this date. Elite Night Credits and their tier status will also be transferred.

Conclusion
It has been an unfortunate saga with Radisson, which was first purchased by HNA that essentially folded, and the hotelier then ended up with Jin Jian, a Chinese hospitality company owned by the government.
Radisson was forced to split the program into two: Americas and the Rest of the World, and then Choice Hotels came into the picture and purchased the Americas operations.
So, hotels under various Radisson brands will be part of Choice Hotels and Choice Privileges in the Americas, but there won’t be any loyalty cooperation with Radisson’s hotel operations outside of this area.
