Cathay Pacific has launched an offer for Silver, Gold, and Diamond members whose membership year ends between December 1 – March 31, 2024.

Cathay members can renew their tier more easily or reach a higher tier with fewer points and get additional bonus Status Points, depending on their flying activity.

1. Special renewal

We’ve adjusted our Status Points requirements for Gold members. Provided you reach 420 Status Points by the end of your membership year, and your membership year ends within the eligibility period, we’ll automatically renew your current status for another year.

2. Bonus Status Points

If you meet or exceed your status renewal target, you’ll earn bonus Status Points. Provided you reach 300, 600, or 1200 Status Points on or before the membership expiry date, we’ll gift you 100, 200, or 400 bonus Status Points respectively as a token of gratitude. These will be automatically credited to your account within one month upon the renewal or upgrade of your status, bringing you closer to achieving your status in 2024.

3. Upgrade opportunity

We greatly value your membership. So we would like to give you a head start to help you reach the next level. With this special offer, if you earn 840 Status Points at the end of your membership year, you’ll be upgraded to Diamond status and enjoy even more benefits.

Automatic extension of mid-status benefits

We’re also giving you more time and flexibility to use your hard-earned mid-status benefits. Any unused mid-status benefits that are due to expire between 1 December 2023 and 31 March 2024 will be extended to 31 December 2024. The mid-status benefits will be renewed within one month upon expiration.

Who is eligible for this offer?

Existing Silver, Gold and Diamond members whose membership expiry date falls between 1 December 2023 and 31 March 2024.

Do I need to register to receive this offer?

No, if you meet the criteria within the eligibility period, we’ll automatically renew or upgrade your status by your membership expiry date. Bonus Status Points will also be automatically credited to your account within one month upon the renewal of your status. There is no need to reach out to our Customer Care team.

What if I already got upgraded before the eligible period?

For those who got upgraded by meeting the standard conditions between April – November 2023 (before the eligible period), we will be honouring you with bonus Status Points as a token of gratitude for your tremendous support. We will credit the following bonus Status Points to your account within January 2024.

Members upgraded to Silver between April – November 2023 will be rewarded with 100 bonus Status Points

Members upgraded to Gold between April – November 2023 will be rewarded with 200 bonus Status Points

If I am eligible for this offer and meet the Status Points requirements, when will my membership status be renewed/upgraded?

Your membership status will be automatically updated on your membership expiry date.

The bonus Status Points will be automatically credited to your account within one month upon renewal or upgrade of your new membership status.

What will happen to my remaining Status Points?

As with any renewal, your Status Points will automatically be reset to zero.

After my status renewal, can I still move up to a higher status if I’ve earned the required number of Status Points?

Yes, the standard rules for upgrades still apply.

Does this change affect my Asia Miles?

No, your Asia Miles balance will not be affected.

My membership expires after March 2024, why am I not eligible for the offer?

The special offer takes into consideration our members’ ability to travel and earn Status Points after the pandemic.  Global travel restrictions had largely been uplifted by March 2023, and we had been progressively resuming our network and flights since the Hong Kong borders reopened.

Terms and conditions of this offer:

Silver, Gold, and Diamond members whose membership expiry date falls between 1 December 2023 and 31 March 2024 receiving the email invitation will enjoy the special Status Points conditions and bonus Status Points upon reaching the stated requirements.

Members will be entitled to the special renewal, upgrade, or bonus Status Points once they fulfilled the special membership renewal requirement on the membership end date between 1 December 2023 and 31 March 2024.

Offers are mutually exclusive; members will be entitled to one offer by accumulating the required status points on the membership end date.

Silver, Gold and Diamond members will enjoy the extension of membership status upon meeting the special renewal criteria on the existing membership end date. The new membership year will be extended one calendar year. The updated membership period will be reflected in members’ accounts within one month of current expiration.

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited reserves the final right of decision towards the Cathay membership status extension.

The flight tickets must be associated with your membership number that’s provided during the booking or check-in process.
